Snow 2015

Less than a month until spring and of course, the crazy, bipolar weather in Georgia decides to visit. Last week, we had a ton of black ice (dangerous) and missed the whole week of school, (first two days for winter break), and this week, we have only went on Monday.

I was excited to shoot my second outfit post in the snow! (coming next week.) The first picture is a sneak peak, and excuse it being a blurry shot but I found that so fascinating. My dog, Charlie Brown, also made an appearance! Last night, he watched my boyfriend and I build our snowmen as the snow was coming down hard. The rest of the photos are taken from my backyard. Snow makes nature look extra beautiful this time of year. The winter white sits on it very well, but I can honestly say, I am ready for spring.

How did you spend your snow days?

Desk Accessories

Design Darling is a website I love to look at. It's timeless pieces, amazing artwork, and home decor truly make me ready to live on my own someday. Buttt, while I am still living at home until I move to college, I will dream from behind the computer screen! :)

I currently have a desk but am in the process of having a new one made. My desk now is a little small and only one drawer is accessible. With all of my school work pilled on my desk, I immediately realized I needed a wider desk so I could easily spread my school work across my desk without it looking messy. Here below are a few desk items I am obsessed with!

Snow-Day Outfit Ideas

The snow has made an appearance in Georgia this week! Last week, we had a lot of black ice, loss of power, and packed grocery stores. Not that much has changed this week, my school got canceled yesterday and today. We had winter break last week Monday and Tuesday and ended up missing the rest of the week due to the ice, so this week may not be different.

But, hey, enough about the weather. How about what to wear in this weather? I see so many cute, snow outfit pictures all over Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr. I rounded up a few of my favorite Snow Day- Inspired outfits from Pinterest!

What is your go-to snow day outfit?

J. Crew Looks We Love

These 'Looks We Love' were recently posted on the J. Crew website. I am in love with this color scheme! Navy is one of my favorite colors and most worn. The different hues of yellow, blues, and whites and perfect for spring in summer. The looks are fresh, easy, but still oh so chic!

What do you think of these looks?

Words of Wisdom

Over the past weekend, I went to a retreat called Happening. It is a weekend for the youth of the Episcopal congregation. By no means am I going to force my beliefs on you, but I learned something this weekend that I will cherish forever.

Do you ever have a friend(s) where you instantly click? You're always there for each other through the good and the bad, you're basically like family. Sound familiar? Well, these friends have a special name- angels. In my group, one of the leaders pointed out something that was so relevant and beautiful, that it made me think about the angels in my life. She said, "you know when you just click with that person. You understand them, and love them for who they are and they love you."
That could not be more true. As I was thinking of my angels, I realized how few there were, maybe because not all of my friends have impacted me in some way. But regardless of the amount of angels you have, it's truly amazing that those people are in your life. There's a reason behind it- behind every supporting text, every laugh, and every cry; it blows my mind to think about the people who have always been there for me. I thought this quote was perfect, because our angels love us no matter what, despite our flaws.

Do you have angels in your life?

UGG Slippers

Who doesn't love a good pair of warm slippers?!
Continuing on with my winter gift guide, the next post is UGG slippers.
I have had a pair of UGG slippers for years and I wear them all year around! They also last a long time, and definitely worth the money.

Enjoy!

Let's Stay Warm

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

I hope everyone is staying warm! Yesterday's weather consisted of a ton of ice- it almost looked like snow!
I mentioned yesterday how I will be doing a guide a day for this wintery weather. Here are my day two picks- the go-to pj's when wanting to never leave your bed and staying cozy.

1 & 2: The shirt dresses are super comfortable and easy (white button down is my fave).
3: Who doesn't wake up wanting coffee?!
4: Add a monogram to this pajama set and I may click 'add to bag'.
5 & 6: This outfit is cozy and chic; definitely for lounging around the house.
7: These lips pajama pants are so cute! More selections are linked above.

Sock Love

Talk about freezing. The temperature has definitely dropped where I live, in Northeast Georgia. With a couple of days added to the weekend for winter break and snow guaranteed, I am living in pj's and cozy socks.
Who doesn't love a good pair of cozy, warm socks?! I spotted these adorable socks, from none other than J. Crew.

Aren't they adorable?! The pinks are perfect for February and also show the anticipation for spring!
In honor of the snow and ice coming in this week, I will be doing a guide of cozy, winter things everyday this week!

Hope you enjoy and stay warm!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, fellow readers!
I hope you all enjoy today, whether it be with your significant other, your family, or your closest friends, make today all about LOVE.

I'm also loving this four day weekend I'm having. We have a mini winter break and I am so glad for it! I plan to work on my homework and take time for myself. Breaks are definitely a time where I can refocus and get my motivation back. I also got my second round of SAT scores back this week, and let's just say it was't what I wanted but it was improvement.

Enough of the negativity, make room for positivity!

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day and a fabulous weekend!

Weekend Outfit Inspiration

You've heard about her from the hit t.v. show The City. You've seen her street style, attending fashion shows, oh, and vacationing with Valentino. Does the name Olivia Palermo sound familiar?
I cannot stop gushing over Olivia's style. She is very classic with an edge, and her hit style blog can be found here
I love to google my favorite fashionista's with the words 'street style 2015'. I want to know how these girls are dressing currently and how ah-mazing they can look in the streets.
Olivia was out and about over the weekend, picking up a few things to style so the world can 'oo' and 'ah' away. Take a look at the new chic way to reconsider your Saturday shopping outfit.

What do you think about Olivia's outfit?

Tennis Update

via*

As you all know or might not know, I am doing tennis this year for the first time. We had conditioning for a couple of weeks, then tryouts. My coach has a technique called a ladder, where he will take your best mile times, stadium times, number of crunches, etc. and that is how your placement will determine your spot on the team. (yes, our tennis skills were included too.) Now, we have challenges. Challenges are where you play the opponent who is ahead of you on the ladder. If you beat them, you switch places, and if you lose, you remain in your place. I made Varsity- number 7, and I challenged the 6th girl, won, and moved up to her spot. See the idea?

When we were challenging, I also got to learn about how the scoring works in tennis. My coach started us out going to 1-2-3-4, instead of love-15-30-40-game. I was a little confused but I was able to catch on within a day so I was very proud! We challenged in singles, and even though I more than likely will not be playing singles, it was neat to be able to see the difference between that and doubles. I didn't realize where you can hit the ball is very limited before you hit it out.

We have our first match this week, but I will be missing due to a concert, but overall, I am very excited and looking forward to the season!

How to Stay Motivated

via*

Monday's are a killer for me. The weekend allows me to become reenergized and relax before I had back to school each week. Normally, I am always looking forward to my week, since I like to plan ahead, and see what I have to accomplish! If I know I have something due later in the week, I try to get it finished in case any emergencies pop up! But lately, my crazy schedule and workload has left me exhausted and feeling very unmotivated. I had these tips posted above pinned on my Pinterest and I knew it was a perfect time to share to start off this Monday!

This week, I am striving for staying motivated and getting things completed!

How will you be motivated this week?

Crave or Save: The Black Tote

Lately, I've been dreaming of summer. This cold weather is making it impossible to bare. While I love the cooler months, once Christmas ends, I'm basically over winter. But, the approach of Valentines Day tends to put a smile on peoples' faces! :)

Since I've been dreaming of summer, I have a huge trip. Don't worry, I will let you all know soon enough where it is but I am beyond excited. (It's in one of my favorite cities!)
I will be doing a summer program, and I am in search of the perfect tote to transport all of my school supplies and laptop in. I am in a debate over which of these two totes I should take the plunge on..

The one on the left (crave) is J. Crew factory. It's very polished, proper, and professional.
The one on the right (save) is from the juniors department at Nordstrom. It's very laid back, fun, easy-breezy kind of look.

Are you searching for a black tote?

February

Can y'all believe it's already February? This year is flying by!

As I mentioned last month, Peaches and Cream will be undergoing some changes. As you can already tell, I added a background picture to the main page (it's peaches, btw). I'm working on adding some new components to my blog, just to spruce it up a bit. Besides the web page portion, I might also post less. I realized that readers read blogs for a reason. Whether it be for inspiration, help with an outfit, or a recipe, everyone reads for a reason. I've had this blog since 2012, but have not used it until August of last year. While I'm still in the early phases of blogging, I am still learning so much. As a reader of other blogs myself, I love seeing what bloggers post about, how they put it together, etc. They don't just post something last minute, they spend minutes and hours perfecting what they want to share with the world. As I will be posting less for now, I want to bring great content to my readers, not just something thrown together. Granted, it may just be a post about links, but I still hope that you all will gain something from what I share with you all.

I hope you all continued to stay tuned and thank you for reading Peaches and Cream!
xoxo
